​The difference between saturated and unsaturated resins
Saturated polyester resin
Saturated polyester resin (oil-free alkyd resin) is mainly used in the production of coil coatings, depending on the properties and structure of the resin
They can be used for coating, primer and backing paint of coil coatings, as well as for printing inks and thermal coated coils
Saturated polyester resin.
Characteristics of saturated polyester resin:
The saturated polyester resin requires that the coating film has good decoration, protection, durability, workability and processing
The type of polyester coating is most used, because saturated polyester resin has the following characteristics:
(1) versatility and weather resistance. Mainly suitable for steel coating in construction industry.
(2) hardness and toughness are prominent, and have the resistance to dirt, the use of higher grades.
(3) economy. Suitable for general requirements of coil coating.
Two unsaturated polyester resin
Unsaturated polyester resin is generally made of unsaturated dicarboxylic acid or unsaturated dicarboxylic acid diol diol
A linear polymer compound with ester bonds and unsaturated double bonds. Usually, polyester polycondensation is reversed
Should be carried out at 190~220 DEG C until the desired acid value (or viscosity) is reached at the end of the polyester shrinkage reaction
After that, a certain amount of vinyl monomer is added to the heat to form a viscous liquid, so that the polymer solution is called
Unsaturated polyester resin.
Characteristics of unsaturated polyester resin:
(1) heat resistance. The thermal deformation temperature of most unsaturated polyester resins is 50~60 degrees C, and some of them are resistant to heat
The resin with good heat can reach 120 DEG C.
(2) mechanical properties. Unsaturated polyester resin has higher tensile, bending, compression and other strength.
(3) resistance to chemical corrosion. Unsaturated polyester resin, water resistant, dilute acid, dilute alkali performance is better, organic resistance
The performance of the solvent is poor, while the chemical resistance of the resin is not related to its chemical structure and geometric switching
The same can make a big difference.
(4) dielectric properties. Unsaturated polyester resin has good dielectric properties.
(5) unsaturated polyester resin is changed from insoluble and fusible to insoluble and non fusible.
(6) it can still dissolve in the suitable solvent and has good fluidity when heated.
